BioShock-like action-adventure game Atomic Heart has a hypnotising new trailer, and it’s looking spiffy. Expect it later this year on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Developer Mundfish has released a new trailer for its upcoming first-person action-adventure, Atomic Heart. It looks really strong, both in terms of technical graphics and artistic design, what with its Soviet-era science-fiction theme and crisp visuals. Have a look at the beautiful, beautiful madness below:
Details on the game are sparse (and the trailer doesn’t help explain anything either), but you play the game as a special agent codenamed P-3. The game is set during the ‘high noon’ of an alternate universe Soviet Union. Agent P-3 is tasked with figuring out what happened to ‘enterprise 3826’, which has gone radio silent. Clearly, things are set to get grisly, if the trailer is any indication.
Its focus on exploration, adventure and action really calls mind the System Shock and BioShock games. Like the latter, there is also a strong emphasis on creating a strange and compelling world. Gameplay appears to involve melee and gun-based combat, and even very extensive gun customisation. Sure it isn’t quite Resonance of Fate, but then what is? The trailer also doesn’t shirk from wild displays of violence and gore.
The game is being developed by Mundfish, a studio based in Moscow. Check out the developer’s official website here. Mundfish is handling the publishing of the game by itself.
There’s no firm release date yet, but Atomic Heart is expected to release sometime later this year on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the official website here. There’s also a Steam page up. By the bye, 2K Games is reportedly working on a BioShock game of its own. It looks like the future is bright for BioShock-alikes.
