Beat up rats, dogs and crocodiles in Claws of Furry, a roguelike beat ’em up starting a ninja cat searching for his abducted ninja master.
Your Ninja Master has been abducted, and like any self-respecting ninja cat, you must go look for him. Along the way, you’ll use sick ninja skills (mostly just punching people a lot) to break through the territories of your nastiest foes: rats, crocodiles and dogs. That’s the premise behind the cleverly named Claws of Furry, a beat ’em up that’s currently seeking funds over at Kickstarter.
There’s two main difficulty modes in the game, and the ‘standard’ one functions like a roguelike, which means that if you die, you have to start from the beginning. The skills you have unlocked will be retained, however, making your next ninja cat hero all the more powerful. The gauntlet you must face is spread across four chapters, and each will have an intimidating boss to beat.
If you’d rather keep it simple and checkpoint-based, there’s a “Pussycat” mode you can try. Apart from these two modes, there’s also a survival mode.
You don’t have to play alone, either, as the game features local and online co-op for up to four alley cats.
Claws of Furry is being developed by Terahard, which is composed of developers from the UK and Greece. While the game looks to be in good shape already, the team is looking for £10,000 to make it even better. As of this writing, it’s reached almost 20% of the goal, and has 11 days to go.
Claws of Furry is scheduled to release on PC and Mac via Steam on 19th January 2018.
