Flight School Studio has announced its next game: the stylish dungeon crawler Creature in the Well. It’s coming out on PC and Switch later this year.
The developers of Manifest 99 have revealed their next game: Creature in the Well. It’s a hack-and-slash dungeon crawler, and each screenshot of it looks like a graphic novel panel.
Here’s how it looks in motion:
Here’s what’s going on in the story:
Creature in the Well is a top down pinball inspired hack and slash dungeon crawler. As the last remaining BOT-C unit, venture deep into a desert mountain to restore power to an ancient facility, haunted by a desperate Creature. Uncover and upgrade powerful gear in order to save the city of Mirage from a deadly sandstorm.
It seems you’ll have to use the pinball-ish mechanics to enable ancient machinery that you’ll find in the game’s many dungeons. Judging by the trailer, you’ll have to use the same idea to beat the baddies, too. Never let your parents tell you that all those years you spent playing pinball were a waste.
Creature in the Well is being developed by Flight School Studio, which is an indie dev spread out across Hollywood, Dallas, and Montreal. The specific brains behind the project are Adam Volker and Bohdon Sayre from the Montreal studio. Both Volker and Sayre were previously responsible for Manifest 99. Flight School is self-publishing the game.
Creature in the Well is expected to release sometime in Summer 2019 for PC (via Steam) and Switch.
