‘Micro adventure’ game The Swords of Ditto is coming to PC, Mac, Linux and PS4 as soon as next month. Here’s a look at the co-op action RPG.

Devolver Digital has announced that The Swords of Ditto will release on 24th April. The game will release simultaneously on PC, Mac, Linux and PS4. The announcement comes by way of a press release, as well as a blog post on the PlayStation Blog that details the game’s gameplay loop.

Here’s a look at the game by way of a freshly forged new gameplay trailer:

In the game, you play as a randomly-generated hero in a randomly-generated world, with one thing remaining persistent: you must defeat the evil Mormo. If you’re a tough one, you can go and challenge her up straight. If you’re a smart one though, you’ll explore your surroundings, meet new characters, get items and equipment, and build up your strength before taking on the big boss.

So far so RPG. But in The Swords of Ditto, both success and failure will advance the story 100 years forward. The results of your previous hero’s actions will be reflected in this newly-generated world, and it will be up to your new hero to once again face off against Mormo.

The Swords of Ditto features local co-operative play, so you can go adventuring with a friend, if you so desire. For more details and another trailer, have a look at our previous coverage of the game from June last year.

If you’re thinking of snagging the game for your computer, The Swords of Ditto can be found here on Steam, and here on GOG.com.
