The team behind The Longest Journey, The Secret World, and the Dreamfall games is back with an original mystery titled Draugen, and it’s coming in May.
Norwegian developer Red Thread Games has revealed a new trailer for its upcoming mystery thriller, Draugen.
The game is set in the 1920s and has you playing as Edward Charles Harden, an American traveller who is looking for his missing sister Betty. His investigations take him to the fjords of rural Norway, where he must explore a remote coastal community for clues. Aiding him in his quest is his energetic young ward Lissie.
Along with the trailer, the developer has announced that it is releasing the game in May this year. No specific release date has been announced yet, but given the approaching release window, it’ll probably be unveiled in the coming weeks. If you’re really desperate, though, you could try travelling to the fjords of Norway yourself to find out.
So far, PC is the only platform the game will come out on. It will be available on Steam and GOG.com.
Here’s the game in motion:
Red Thread Games is, of course, known for developing Dreamfall Chapters, the episodic adventure game that concluded in 2016. Dreamfall Chapters was in itself the final part of the series of games that began with The Longest Journey in 1999 and continued with Dreamfall: The Longest Journey in 2006.
The creative team behind those two games would then leave developer Funcom to form the new Red Thread Games. This is the first game from the developer to be based on an original IP.
