Australian visual novel Necrobarista has been pushed into the next year, but it’s gained a new release platform. You’ll also be able to try before you buy.
We’ve had our eye on Necrobarista since it was announced early last year. The game was originally supposed to release this year, but has now been pushed into a 2019 release window. The project’s development is going in full swing, as is evidenced by the new announcement that the game will also release on PS4 alongside the previously announced platforms of PC, Mac, and Switch.
Furthermore, the devs have announced that they’re also working on a free demo for the game, which will be released exclusively on Steam. The demo will be out before the game proper releases.
There’s also a new trailer for the game. It’s oozing with style and striking imagery, have a look below:
And here’s what the game’s about:
In a magical modern-day Melbourne, Australia, Necrobarista takes place within the confines of a supernatural coffee house whose patrons are not all of this world. Here, the dead can return to spend one final day on Earth. Indistinguishable from the living, these ghosts can mingle and resolve unfinished business before departing this realm for what awaits on the other side.
Told through a series of vignettes from the perspectives of several patrons, Necrobarista’s story centers on Maddy, the café’s manager and resident necromancer. While she does her best to keep the shop running smoothly, ferrying souls to the afterlife can have its complications.
