Nintendo has added three new titles to its Switch launch line-up, and they’re all indies. Here’s what you can play when you pick up a Switch on launch day.
The past month and a half has been explosive when it comes to Switch news, which is appropriate considering that the console is launching in a mere week from today. Today, Nintendo has confirmed that it’s added a few more titles to its launch line-up for the Switch. These include Fast RMX from Shin’en Multimedia and Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, which is the upcoming DLC for Shovel Knight. The original Shovel Knight will release on Switch on the console’s launch day as well, in the form of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. This release includes the original game with all released DLC (including Specter of Torment).
This news comes right after the revelation that The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ has been delayed on Switch and will no longer be a launch title for the console. The game had previously been confirmed to be a launch title.
Apart from the games mentioned above, other indies coming to Nintendo’s latest console on launch day are games from Tomorrow Corporation: Little Inferno, World of Goo and Human Resource Machine. Non-indies that will be launching alongside the console are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Snipperclips, 1-2-Switch, I Am Setsuna, Just Dance 2017, Skylanders: Imaginators and Super Bomberman R.
Nintendo is quite confident about the indie support its console has right now. They’ve arranged for an indie showcase on Tuesday, 28 February. Called the Nindies Showcase, it will air at 9 am Pacific Time (5 pm UTC). What to expect from the show? A whole bunch of interesting new creations, no doubt, but also a few familiar names perhaps. To watch, all you have to do is head over to Nintendo’s site.
