Raji: An Ancient Epic gets a new trailer and a 2020 release window
Raji is alive and kicking, as is evidenced by a fresh new trailer from the game's GDC outing. Here's a look at the Indian-themed action adventure title.
It's been a while since we last checked in on Raji: An Ancient Epic. The last time we covered it was in November 2017, when it was being crowdfunded on Kickstarter. The game is still being made, and the developer has released a new trailer to showcase how the game looks like right now:
We reported before that Raji is in development for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. The game's official website currently makes no mention of the console versions, but there is a Steam page up with PC system requirements.
While there's no release date for the game at the moment, it's on track to release at some point in the first quarter of 2020.
Here's the game's plot:
Raji, a young girl is chosen by the gods, to stand against the demonic invasion of the human realm. Her destiny to rescue her younger brother and face the demon lord Mahabalasura.
The actual gameplay will be a mix of action and puzzling, but there also seems to be a bit of platforming involved, if the trailer is anything to go by. The action itself will feature a range of options, as well as enemies of different sizes and stripes, all based on Indian and Balinese mythology.
Raji: An Ancient Epic is being developed by Nodding Heads Games, which is based in Pune, India. While the game is listed on Steam as self-published, the trailer suggests that Super! Publishing (Super.com) might be publishing now.
