Soon, you’ll be able to play as a lynx or a cub while on the go, as Shelter 2 and Paws: A Shelter 2 Game are headed exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.

The two newest Shelter games are on their way to the Switch, it has been confirmed. The collection will be published on the Switch by CIRCLE Entertainment, who has confirmed that the games will be console exclusive to the Switch. No release date or further details have been announced yet.

The collection is composed of Shelter 2, an open-world survival game in which you control a mother lynx; and Paws: A Shelter 2  Story, a linear adventure that tells the tale of a cub and its bear friend as they try to find their way home.

Here’s the blurb and trailer for Shelter 2:

The game follows the life of a mother lynx, starting as a pregnant animal, giving birth and continuing in to a journey of parenthood where nurturing her cubs is paramount for survival. Shelter 2 includes more elaborate gameplay features than its predecessor, such as stamina, different types of movements, jumps and a variety of prey to kill. Besides hunting there are several maternal and hunting features, such as calling the cubs closer, smell for prey, making sure they drink water from rivers and lifting and carrying your cubs from harm’s way.

And here’s what Paws: A Shelter 2 Story is all about:

Paws is a tale of two halves and sees you traverse the dark and dank surroundings of an enchanted land as you try to fend off dangers, whilst overcoming the daunting sprawling landscape you encounter as you try to make your way home.

Both games are presently available on PC, Mac and Linux. More information can be found at the developer’s website here.

There really aren’t enough games about surviving as a real-life animal. Meanwhile, you can survive in the wilderness as a human in Torla or The Long Dark.
