Point-and-click adventure game Tormentum has a sequel in development, but the wait will be a torment in itself. Here’s a look at the dark, Giger-esque game.

Polish developer OhNoo Studio is back with a sequel to its debut game, Tormentum. It’s titled Tormentum II, and it features crisp hand-painted art set in a weird, dark, and surreal fantasy world inspired by artists like H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński. The game has been announced exclusively for PC and Mac, and it currently has a release date of 20th June 2019.

The game is set in a future where the world has been devastated by technology, but somehow, computer games still exist (how convenient). You play as a game creator on the quest to create human-like intelligence in his game. One day, he ends up getting a package containing a mysterious processor, and installs it in his computer. Before you can say “Digital Foundry Review”, he gets sucked into the game world, finding it twisted and strange.

Check out the teaser trailer to the game below:

As a classic-style point-and-click, you’ll be exploring the world, meeting new characters, making tough decisions, and uncovering secrets. Who knows, you might even find a rubber ducky with a pulley in the middle. Or maybe not, no.

Furthermore, Tormentum II will include twice as many locations as were included in the first game. Accompanying the game’s grim and macabre art will be a metal soundtrack, which does seem quite appropriate for the game.

You can check out Tormentum II’s Steam page here. There’s no official website just yet, but you’ll find OhNoo Studio’s website here.
