GDC Europe: CANCELLED in Cologne, Germany

Event organiser UBM has cancelled all future GDC Europe events. The conference had taken place in Germany, alongside Europe’s biggest games consumer event Gamescom, for years.But with Gamescom growing its business area and GDC organisers looking to focus on making its main San Francisco event larger, the decision was made to drop the European event.

Despite bringing the event to a close, UBM said it still plans to “increase efforts to support the growth of European game professionals at the global event”. It is not clear how it aims to do this, however.

PAX Dev, August 31 – September 1, 2017, Seattle WA, USA

In 2004, the folks at Penny Arcade decided they wanted a show exclusively for gaming. Sure, comics, anime, and other nerd hobbies were cool, and those activities all had their own shows… so what about games? From that idea spawned a small 4,500 person event in Bellevue, Washington, focused on the culture and community that is gaming.

Since then, the show hasn’t looked back. Doubling in size each year until venue capacities were reached, in 2010 the show expanded into Boston for PAX East, drawing tens of thousands of attendees in the inaugural year. The shows in Seattle and Boston represent the two largest gaming events in North America!

Tokyo Game Show 15 – 20 September 2017 in Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan

We had 202 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions. 1,293 press people from 33 countries and regions covered the event. Tokyo Game Show has attracted international attention as the world largest scale GAME event.
On top of it Tokyo Game Show has been recognized as the international business meeting opportunity on Business Day with 12.8 % increase of 1,555 oversea visitors for two days.
