Prideful Sloth has released a short new trailer for Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, this time showing off a new location… and a funky alpaca thing.
Last month, we got a look at a couple of grassy locations from Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, and now we get to visit Numino Peak. It’s a fairly snowy environment, which is an absolute treat to me considering the May heat I have to deal with. Instead, I have to make do with shoving my head inside the freezer (don’t try at home, kids). Here’s the very brief trailer:
There’s some interesting candle work early on in the trailer, followed by shots of the rocky, snow-capped peak in question. Little known fact: Skyrim did not invent snowy peaks. The highlight of the trailer is, no doubt, the alpaca-like creature that the protagonist befriends. It’s called a Girpacca, and like every creature from Yonder, it absolutely melts my icy heart.
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is a non-violent island adventure in which the protagonist must befriend the townsfolk and animals of Gemea. It channels a bit of The Legend of Zelda with its exploration, and it’s also got a bit of Stardew Valley in it with its pleasant farming, crafting, cooking, fishing and brewing. The game features eight biomes, of which we’ve seen three in trailers so far. Apart from gallivanting about these diverse locations, you’ll also be beating back a sinister murky… thing. There’s no combat in the game, so you’ll be doing that with the power of love and friendship, it seems.
Under development at Australian studio Prideful Sloth (which contains ex-Batman: Arkham developers), Yonder is slated to release on PC and PS4, on July 18th. Here’s the official website, and here’s where you can pre-order it on PS4 and Steam.
