BitSummit 8th is now open to game submissions from indie developers
14 Nov, 2019
Indie game convention BitSummit 8th will be happening in Kyoto next year, and game submissions for it have been opened up.
Japan’s biggest independent games festival BitSummit will enter its 8th iteration next year. The appropriately named BitSummit 8th will take place on 9th and 10th May, 2020.
If you’d like to attend, you’ll have to fly to Kyoto, Japan and head to the Miyako Messe convention centre where the festival will be open from 10 am to 5 pm for both days of the weekend.
Submissions for indie games have now been opened up, so if you’ve got an indie game that you’d like to show off at the festival (and that you think has a chance of being selected), you should head over to the official website of the event here.
Submissions will close on 12th January 2020, so you have about two months to decide if your game is worth it. (It is, I believe in you).
Among the games showcased in previous years of the event are such entries as 39 Days to Mars, Below, Dead Cells, Frog Detective, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, No Straight Roads, World of Horror, and Tales of the Neon Sea.
This year, there will be over 100 developers from both Japan and across the world, showing off their games at the festival.
At the 7th edition of BitSummit, the organisers recorded an attendance of 17,000. This is expected to swell to 20,000 in the 8th one. There will also be guest speakers and musicians, who will be unveiled over the coming months.
