Foregone is an action platformer inspired by Dark Souls and Diablo

The challenging Foregone is inspired by the greats, and it will release in Early Access on PC later this year. It will also be out on next-gen consoles.

If you’ve already beat Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, then you might just be craving for more Souls-like actioners. Have a look at Foregone, then: it involves challenging combat, complete with strategic dodging.

Heirs to the throne of the Souls games have a lot to prove, but Foregone does look like it’s getting somewhere with its fluid animations and deliberate combat mechanics.

Here’s what the game is about:

Years after the resolution of a devastating war, an organization of powerful Arbiters carries out one objective: maintain order, by any means necessary. When a nefarious force that consumed her wartorn city long ago suddenly threatens to reawaken, one Arbiter is dispatched to preserve order and keep the peace – but her mission dredges up memories better left forgotten.

There’s no release date for Foregone just yet, but it’s announced for a Winter 2019 release for PC Early Access. Curiously, the developer has also announced that the game will release on next-generation consoles. No mention has been made of current consoles like the PS4, Switch, or Xbox One.

Have a look at the game’s trailer:

Foregone is being developed by Big Blue Bubble, which is based in London, Canada (not the one in the UK). The veteran studio has worked extensively on mobile and casual games across a variety of platforms.

For more information on Foregone, have a look at its official website here. You’ll also find the game on Steam here.

For more brutal action (and a female protagonist!), have a look at the mythological Raji: An Ancient Epic. If run ‘n gun shooting is more your thing, then have a look at Zombotron.
