Hypergun brings shiny and procedural gunsmithing to PC later this month

Hypergun is a roguelite in which your gun is procedurally generated. Will it suppress your oppressors? Or would you rather be weilding a water gun?

Few games have the good fortune to be as shiny as Hypergun manages to be. The simulation-within-a-simulation game was revealed only a few months ago, but it now has a release date. Hypergun will release this very month, on August 23rd. The release will be limited to PC, via Steam. It will be a full release, priced at $14.99 USD.

According to the release date trailer (as seen below), console versions of the game are still on their way, although they’ll take some time to cook. Expect to see the game on PS4 and Xbox One in at the tail-end of the year. But first, the trailer:

Hypergun comes from the minds of Canadian developer NVYVE Studios, which is perhaps more famous for their Early Access title P.A.M.E.L.A.

Here’s the game’s description, according to the dev:

Save the world as DevTech Labs’ fearless intern, Dewey Owens in HYPERGUN! A fast-paced roguelite shooter centering around a procedural weapon of questionable effectiveness, it’s up to Dewey to master the ultimate combat simulator. Fighting through waves of alien interlopers in a simulation designed to create the ultimate weapon, players will unlock exciting new classes all while gaining powerful abilities in their journey to create the HYPERGUN!

Speaking of roguelites, check out Noita, which was revealed at E3 this year. Every pixel in it is simulated! If you’d rather stick to shooting stuff up with guns, check out My Friend Pedro.
