Indie Game Releases of the Week: 21st to 27th October 2019

This week in indie games, we have 5v1 scares in Secret Neighbor, space scares in Moons of Madness, bedroom scares in Dark Veer, and more.

But wait, don’t run off just yet! There’s more to indie games just October spookiness this week, as you’ll also be cycling down a mountain and running a medieval inn.

Moons of Madness (22nd October on PC)

Developer: Rock Pocket Games
Publisher: Funcom

Moons of Madness is an H.P. Lovecraft-inspired cosmic horror game in which you play as an engineer dispatched to trace the origin of a mysterious space signal. Surprisingly, despite the space eldritch horror theme, the game is set in the same universe as Funcom’s Secret World Legends.

Lonely Mountains: Downhill (23rd October on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One)

Developer: Megagon Industries
Publisher: Thunderful Publishing

Lonely Mountains: Downhill makes no mystery of what it’s about. Lonely mountains, and downhill cycling. This physics-enhanced bicycling experience will have you cycling from the peak to the bottom on peaceful and unspoiled mountain environments.

Crossroads Inn (23rd October on PC, Mac, Linux)

Developer: Kraken Unleashed
Publisher: Klabater

Crossroads Inn is a real-time management game that has you overseeing a medieval inn during a time of political turmoil. As you play host to some very important people, you’ll find that it’s not so easy being the innkeeper.

Secret Neighbor (24th October on PC)

Developer: Hologryph, Dynamic Pixels
Publisher: tinyBuild

Secret Neighbor is a free-to-play spin-off of Hello Neighbor. This one plays as a multiplayer horror game, so your job is to get to your neighbor’s basement. Of course, the neighbor’s job is to stop them, resulting in an interesting back-and-forth of trust and scares.

Dark Veer (24th October on PC, Switch)

Developer: HannMade Studios
Publisher: Forever Entertainment

Dark Veer (Steam, Switch) is an indie horror game set in a child’s bedroom, where you must spend the night while your father is on night shift duty. It uses an interesting visual style that blends 3D graphics with pixel art, and it features randomised AI to keep you on your toes.
