SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech gets a Switch release date
Only a couple months after it got announced, we have our first release date for SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech. It’ll be out next month on the Switch.
Gosh, that was fast. We only first learned of SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech in January this year, and now the game almost ready for release. According to publisher Thunderful, you can have your hands on the game as soon as 25th April.
The game will be exclusive to the Switch “for the foreseeable future”, according to the developer. Nevertheless, the developer’s wording that the game is releasing ‘first’ on Switch implies that we’ll see it on other platforms at some point.
The game will be priced at $24.99, €24.99, or £22.49, depending on your store region.

Here’s a description for the game, straight from the devs:
In SteamWorld Quest, you lead a party of aspiring heroes who take on whatever threat comes their way by crafting your own deck of cards – choosing from over 100 unique punch-cards! What awaits you is a luscious treasure chest filled with gold, dragons, vivid worlds, magic, knights in shining armor as well as XP, turn-based combat and all the usuals that RPG fans love!
SteamWorld Quest is being developed by Image & Form, which is one of the founding members of Thunderful. Image & Form has previously developed the other games in the SteamWorld series, such as the platformer SteamWorld Dig (and its sequel), as well as the tactics game SteamWorld Heist.

Do consider bopping to the beats of Zelda with Cadence of Hyrule, which is essentially Crypt of the NecroDancer x Zelda. Also check out the dungeon crawler Creature in the Well, which features sword pinball (yes).
