Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones finally has a release date, after years of development. The horror RPG will release on 26th September, across PC, Mac, and Linux. Pricing for the game has been set to $29.99 USD (24.99).

Additionally, the game will be present at Gamescom, where it will be accessible to both press and public. Gamescom is happening in Cologne, Germany from 20th to 24th August.

Here’s how the devs describe the game:

In Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, the player journeys from a doomed Arkham into the depths of the Abyss. Create your own character based on 1920’s archetypes and carve a path through a broken and mysterious world.

Your desperate battle against forces beyond comprehension will haunt you until the end. Physical combat will be challenging, spellcasting will have dire consequences, and your sanity will be strained to the breaking point by unknown abominations. Sometimes the best solution will be to flee what lurks beyond the threshold.

Apart from its RPG adventuring, it also features turn-based battles and an elaborate sanity system based on Lovecraftian horror.

Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones is being developed by Cultic Games, which is based in Istanbul, Turkey. This appears to be the studio’s debut title. The game is being published by 1C Entertainment.

While Cultic Games’ website seems to be down at present, you’ll find more info on the game over at its Kickstarter page. And of course, here’s the Steam page.
