Non-violent exploration game Yonder releases tomorrow, gets a new trailer
17 Jul, 2017
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is less than a day away from release, and you can explore Gemea as soon as tomorrow. Here’s a new trailer for it.
The final pre-release trailer for Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles has been released (unless the developer drops another one in 12 hours), just before the game’s release tomorrow. Much like the trailer before it, it’s narrated by the protagonist’s mother as she preps him for life in Gemea, an island ripe for exploring.
Developed by Australian studio Prideful Sloth, Yonder is an open world game that gives you free reign across its vibrant and varied island. Interestingly, there’s no violence in the game whatsoever: no swords, no knives, no guns, no thermonuclear weapons. Gandhi would be proud.
Apart from exploring, you’ll also be able to farm, cook, fish (it’s not violence if it’s against potential seafood), brew and ultimately befriend everyone and everything on the island of Gemea. That includes all the locals, and all the adorable animals that inhabit its various biomes. There’s also an evil-ish presence called the murk that’s going about the island, but you’ll deal. Non-violently.
Here’s a quick look at each of the biomes and their wildlife:
What’s that? We’re missing one? Well, we’re missing it no longer. Here’s a 20-second look at Crestfall Coast. Its token animal is the Sprig-pig.
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is set to release at 6 am GMT, 18th of July on Steam, for PC. As for PS Store for PS4 (Americas, Rest of the World), the game will release at some time on the same date.
