What exactly is going on at Roswell? You might just figure out the mystery in The Peterson Case, which has you playing as a detective in a deserted house.

Sure you’ve explored abandoned houses full of terrors before, but have you done so in the vicinity of Roswell? The Peterson Case is going to take you there, but it’s coy on what you might actually encounter. Grey aliens? Eldritch horrors? Definitely something very spooky.

Here’s the game’s plot.

Set in 1947. In a location near the Roswell UFO incident. You will play as an experienced detective who has been called in to find information and clues about the mysteriously missing family. Franklin soon discovers that there is an unearthly presence within the house that is hot on his trail – but can he solve the crime before it is all too late?

And here’s a look at the trailer, which seems to show a variety of situations, including what appears to be a war zone?

As far as gameplay goes, there seems to be a mix of classic survival horror running-around, narrative elements as you dig into the game’s story, and puzzles to solve. What is behind the missing family members? Is it aliens? I bet it’s aliens. Or is it? Dun dun dunnnn.

The game is being developed in Bournemouth, England at Quarter Circle Games. The studio is composed of programmer Josh Baker and artists James Wilkins and Mark Silvester.

There’s no release date quite yet, as the game is only expected to be ‘coming soon’. We do know that the game will release on PC via Steam, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. Here’s the official website.
